On behalf of the Silicon Valley Transit Users, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
On Saturday and Sunday, all Silicon Valley transit services will run their respective Saturday and Sunday/Holiday schedules. This includes Caltrain, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), Capitol Corridor trains between San Jose, Oakland and Sacramento; ACE trains between San Jose and Stockton, SamTrans in San Mateo County, Dumbarton Express buses, and BART.
On Monday, the day after Christmas, is when Christmas Day will be formally observed. Read on to learn how these transit agencies will run service this Monday only…
VTA buses and light rail will run on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. According to VTA, there will also be NO express light rail trains this Monday thru Friday due to “low ridership demand” Christmas week.
Caltrain will run a modified train service schedule on Monday. This special schedule will include one (1) “Baby Bullet” express train in the morning and evening peak period in each direction.
There will be no Dumbarton Express (DB) bus service between Union City and Palo Alto on Monday.
SamTrans will run on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday.
As for Capitol Corridor trains and the connecting shuttle buses they operate:

Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) trains between Stockton and San Jose will NOT run on Monday
On Dec. 23 ONLY ACE 03&05 will run in the AM and ONLY ACE 04&06 will run in the PM & On Dec. 26 there will be no service. Happy Holidays!

As for BART: they will run a modified schedule this Christmas week and the day after New Year’s Day,.
If taking any bus or train this week, know before you go. Contact the transit agencies mentioned above for their schedules. This will ensure you are not stranded.
