On behalf of the Silicon Valley Transit Users, I want to thank all of our current, former, and fallen members of our nation’s Armed Forces. Without you, there is no freedom of any kind in the United States of America.

There’s plenty of things to do this Memorial Day weekend. Read on for details.

Next Group Meeting: May 31

On May 31, we will NOT be meeting in San Jose as we normally do every last Thursday of the month.

Instead, we will be meeting VTA in Santa Clara, where they will detail their proposed transit sales tax measure.  That meeting will take place at 7pm at the Locatelli Student Activity Center at Santa Clara University, 500 El Camino Real, in Santa Clara. Here are transit directions to Santa Clara University, served by several rail lines and several VTA bus lines.

VTA’s effort for a potential sales tax ballot measure for November is known as “Envision Silicon Valley.’ I was at the last Envision Silicon Valley stakeholder meeting May 10. Below is a recording of that final meeting.

What are your thoughts on what VTA is proposing for this November?

I’ll see you next Tuesday in Santa Clara.

Weekend Transit Update – May 20-22

From playoff hockey to baseball to a crafts fair – this weekend has some awesome things to do in the South Bay and San Francisco. This post will show you public transit options to and from these events to help you beat traffic gridlock and parking hassles.

Due to San Francisco Giants baseball and Maker Faire in San Mateo, expect standing-room only (SRO) conditions on Caltrain this weekend. This will especially be the case on Saturday, with San Jose Sharks playoff hockey in San Jose around 4pm.
